Pistachios are rich in nutrients
To ensure the delivery of essential nutrients experts recommend a balanced and varied diet. Numerous studies demonstrate the positive effect of a diet with sufficient fibre, vitamins and minerals as well as unsaturated fatty acids in relation to overall health.
Pistachios have a high nutrient density and thus fit perfectly into a balanced diet plan. One portion (about 30g - or 49 nuts) delivers about 160 kilocalories and contains different vitamins and mineral nutrients.
A Vitamin B source
1 portion of pistachios delivers about 1/5 of the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) of vitamin B1 and about ¼ of the RDI of vitamin B6.
Fibre source
Most people in the UK do not consume sufficient fibre. Pistachios are among the nuts with the highest fibre content: One portion alone (about 30g) contains 17% of the RDI of 18g per day (British Nutrition Foundation).
